Hey there, today we're making pumpkin pie, it's fall and so now we're going to follow the trend of pumpkin. Today I have a different base. It's a brown sugar base in my previous ice creams. What I've done is use my cream base recipe, and this one is a brown sugar bass and I chose to do brown sugar for the reason that it's delicious in pumpkin or sweet potato. Any of those types of flavors is going to give the ice cream hopefully a little different flavor. So we're going to combine our cream bass and a bowl with cinnamon and I'm choosing to do cinnamon because that is a spice that's in pumpkin pie. And cinnamon is good. It's yummy. Sometimes all the other spices just get a lot and they're also in pumpkin pie. So I decided to just use one spice. I'm also adding a couple tablespoons of pumpkin puree. I don't necessarily want my pumpkin pie ice cream to be so heavily pumpkin. I've kind of done a pumpkin ice cream in the past and it was so pumpkiny that I didn't care for it very much. With this one. I'm hoping that it will be the right flavor balance with our ice cream maker churning we're going to add our ice cream straight to it. That smells really good. You can smell the pumpkin in there, that yummy fragrance and we'll just let that churn until it's ready. Our ice cream is done. It is so nice and just the right consistency. And I also have pumpkin pie filling that I made and we're going to layer it with our ice cream and our pints. two pints here have my pumpkin
the pumpkin pie smells super good. We'll just mix that in there. When you're layering, you don't need to go clear to the bottom and mix. Just mix each layer so it's not getting overly mixed in there. It smells so good. It smells so foul so that pint is complete. What I love most about the ice cream is the bits on the side of the bowl right here that is so dense and so yummy. is the best part of the ice cream. You can just really get a good chew on that. You also know when your ice cream is ready is when it just it has this really nice, not a sticky texture because it most certainly isn't sticky, but just hold on for a little bit before it releases. There we have it. Two pints of pumpkin pie ice cream that we're going to put in the freezer and we won't eat them until they're good and hard when it is the best that it can be. Jamie Yes. I was debating what to call this pumpkin pie or pumpkin spice but I think we ended up going with pumpkin pie because there's actually pie filling in it.

Or like school lunches for Thanksgiving, but no, it tastes like homemade. Like it doesn't taste like overwhelming with the sugar. It's like a perfect combination of shirts like a vanilla bass or something.

Oh, okay. Well, it's like it's a perfect combination of good days to come pumpkin pie but that you can also taste the bass and it's the perfect amount of crunchy and smooth. Yeah, I feel like um, well he put in your mouth and it's crunchy and then it just like melts away and then you taste all the flavors.
The crunch is ice. And I need to actually figure that out the ice so the pumpkin pie part in there is kind of icy and I really need to figure out how to have these addons nicey because I'm I've been getting that a lot lately.
Oh, I don't even think it's like that bad. It's like the ice kind of feel like ice cream should have the ice
ice cream does have little ice crystals in it. That's what gives it a nice. That's what makes ice cream ice cream. But for me, I don't think ice cream should have big ice chunks. And that's how I feel the pumpkin pie as good as it tastes when I have. So this bit of pumpkin pie filling. I know it's gonna be icy when I put it in my mouth. And is it? Yep. Okay.
It's the flavors are all there though. That's definitely
yeah, the flavors are there. And that is a big deal. But I like that it's not overwhelming. It's not like pow in your face. Here's this pumpkin. And I have made a pumpkin ice cream in the past and it was so pumpkiny that it wasn't even very good. So this one, what I ended up doing was to the base. I added two tablespoons of pumpkin puree. Okay, and mix it all in with the burnt sugar base. I added some cinnamon to it as well. And I think something Hola. And then in the layering process after it was churned, I added a homemade pumpkin pie filling.
It is delicious and makes me want to use it on a couch. cozied up in a blanket. Yeah, I'm watching spooky movies. I love that. I love it. I'll be making a big order after this.
Please do please do. The other part about this ice cream. I like the ice cream part of it is smooth and creamy.
I feel like that's how it is with a bunch of your ice creams where it's like, it's got that crunch. It's not soft serve. But it's also it just melts away in your mouth. And you just like taste all the flavors and none of them are overwhelming. And it's just
yeah. And yeah, it coats your mouth too. So it so I think that helps with the lingering flavor. Oh yeah. But it doesn't melt so fast like cotton candy, it stays for as few seconds before it starts to dissolve. And that's also important to me. Because there are so many other ice creams that you put it on your tongue and it instantly starts to dissolve. Just like a cotton candy when
like what those ice cream so you can also taste the artificial. Definitely. I don't know if it's just It tastes like it's like the perfect amount of rich and you can just tell it's not fake. It's good.

Do you love the things I'm very excited to go to pumpkin patches this year and I'm moving around the country. I feel like we went to a lot of pumpkin patches and different things. But I feel like Colorado always had a special place in my heart when it comes to fall.

had all the memories. And now it's really good weather. I feel like that case was very cold. So wasn't like cute sweater or sweater whether it was more of bundled up, like shivering. Not usually they just go for flavor? Uh huh. One of my favorite flavors is I think it's Bray. Briar, Sire. Yeah, the snickers because they have like a bunch of candy ones and snickers is my favorite candy. So I feel like it's always my go to Yeah, but other than that, it's kind of like on the whim just kind of go down the ice cream aisle of what looks good.
